LAND POLLUTION

Good night Lily friend .. how is it? Hopefully always healthy yes ... this time I will post about the pollution of the land. Please read it hopefully useful ... amin

search from google

A.            THE UNDERSTANDING OF LAND POLLUTION

Soil contamination is a state in which man-made chemicals enter and change the natural soil environment. This pollution usually occurs due to: leakage of wastewater or industrial chemicals or commercial facilities; Use of pesticides; The entry of contaminated surface water into the sub-surface layer; Accidents of vehicles transporting oil, chemicals or waste; Waste water from waste dumps and industrial waste discharged to the land illegally dumping.

According to RI Government Regulation no. 150 of 2000 on Control of soil damage for bio-mass production: "Land is one of the components of the land in the form of the top layer of the earth's crust composed of mineral and organic materials and has physical, chemical, biological and has the ability to support human life and living creatures More. " But what happens, due to human activities, there is a lot of soil damage. In the PP. 150 th. 2000 stated that "The soil damage to biomass production is the change in the nature of the soil that exceeds the standard of soil damage".

When a hazardous substance has polluted the soil surface, it can evaporate, be swept away by rainwater and or enter the soil. Pollution into the soil then settled as a toxic chemical on the ground. Toxic substances in the soil can have a direct impact on humans when touched or can contaminate groundwater and air above it.

Environmental pollution is the entry or inclusion of living things, energy substances, and / or other components into the environment or changing environmental order by human activities or by natural processes so that the quality of the environment down to a certain level that causes the environment becomes less or can not work anymore.

Substances or substances that can cause pollution are called pollutants. The conditions of a substance are called pollutants when their existence can cause harm to living things. For example, carbon dioxide with levels of 0.033% in air is useful for plants, but if higher than 0.033% can have a destructive effect.

A substance may be called a pollutant if:

1. The amount exceeds the normal amount.

2. Being at the wrong time.

3. Being in the wrong place.

The nature of pollutants are:

1. Destructive for a while, but when it reacts with environmental substances do not damage anymore.

2. Destructive for a long time.

For example, Pb is not damaging when the concentration is low. However, in the long term, Pb can accumulate in the body to a destructive level.

    B. SOIL POLLUTION SOURCES
The source of pollutants of the soil, because the pollution of the soil is not much different or can be said to have a close relationship with air pollution and water pollution, the source of air pollutants and pollutant sources of water in general is also a source of pollution of the soil. For example, carbon oxide gases, nitrogen oxides, sulfur oxides that become airborne contaminants dissolved in rainwater and down to the ground can cause acid rain to cause pollution to the soil.

Groundwater containing pollutants such as contaminated with radioactive substances, heavy metals in industrial waste, household waste, hospital waste, remnants of fertilizers and pesticides from agricultural areas, detergent waste, may eventually contaminate the soil of water areas Surface or soil surface of the contaminated surface water. So the source of pollutant soils can be grouped also become a source of pollution coming from, household waste, market waste, hospital waste, erupting volcanoes / motor vehicles and industrial waste.
